Roman camomile occurs in Europe. It should not be confused with the chamomile species known as dog-fennel, which can trigger allergic reactions. Active substances contained in Roman camomile include chamazulene, α-bisabolol, and flavonoids. Chamomile has always been known for its soothing and anti-inflammatory effect.
